Though surrounded by luxury, Psyche was troubled by the secrecy and the occasional whispers of her envious sisters, who convinced her to disobey Eros's one rule: never to look upon his face.Curiosity overcame Psyche one night, and she gazed upon Eros while he slept. Horrified to discover his divine form, she accidentally awoke him, causing him to flee.
